How to get a personal loan when you have no credit – Part 4

With no credit it can be very hard to receive a personal loan. A lot of banks will not trust your ability to repay. I think the best thing a person with no credit can do is open and maintain a checking account at a credit union or a bank. The idea is to build a relationship, show you can handle the responsibility of a debit card and checks. If possible open a savings account. Show the bank that you can put money aside. The ability to maintain and keep these accounts in good standings will come in handy when you want to apply for a credit card or a small personal loan.
If this process is too strenuous or time consuming then the best way to get a personal loan with no credit is to find a cosigner. Yes…a cosigner. You have to find someone with a good enough credit rating to help carry your loan. But remember…when or if you default on the loan the cosigner is responsible for the payment.
Responsibility starts early. It can be taught but the best way to learn it is from experience. But with proper guidance bad credit can be prevented.
GOOD LUCK!
